This 8-night / 9-day Costa Rica honeymoon package (9 nights / 10 days from May 1 - June 30 or September 1 – October 31) features Xandari, a romantic hideaway in the northern mountains of the country’s Central Valley, Gaia, Manuel Antonio’s newest gem and the award-winning Hotel Punta Islita.

This combination of hotels and regions gives our Costa Rica honeymoon couples the opportunity to experience Costa Rica’s mountains; stay in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica’s most visited and popular National Park area; and end your travels at a calm, secluded beach on the Pacific shores of Guanacaste. This package can be customized in order to meet each couple’s expectations. Some suggested changes include room types, hotels, activities and transportation forms. Day 1: Arrival at San Jose International Airport. Take a 25-minute van transfer up the mountains to the Xandari Resort, where you will spend two evenings unwinding in one of the country’s most romantic spots. Xandari is located on the northern mountains of the Central Valley, offering spectacular views of the city. This is one of the country’s prime coffee plantation regions, known also for the strawberry and ornamental plant production. Overnight in an Ultra Room.

Day 2: Enjoy Xandari and the activities available in the Poas Volcano Region. Visit the Poas Volcano early in the morning, and continue on to the La Paz Waterfall Gardens for a fun day exploring the trails, magnificent waterfalls, frog garden, serpentarium and the butterfly gallery. Overnight in an Ultra Room in Xandari.

Day 3: Check out of Xandari. Start the 3 and ½ hour drive to Manuel Antonio (or catch a short local flight). This beautiful drive will take back down the mountains to the Interamerican Highway and then west of the Central Valley to the town of Atenas. Continue down the southern mountains of the Central Valley towards Orotina, home to some of the country’s top fruit producers. Continue towards the beaches of the Central Pacific en route to Quepos, a fishing town near Manuel Antonio. Check into a suite at Gaia, a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Take the rest of the afternoon to explore the region and enjoy the hotel.

Day 4: The staff from the tour company will pick you up for the short drive to Manuel Antonio National Park. Enjoy a guided tour of one of the jewels of the Costa Rica National Park System. Spot three species of monkeys, sloths, iguanas, coatimundis and a wide range of birds and reptiles. Relax in one of the country’s prettiest beaches (we recommend staying at the beach in the park until the 4:00 p.m. closing time). Overnight in a Suite at Gaia.

Day 5: Explore the Manuel Antonio and Central Pacific Regions.

While in Manuel Antonio / Central Pacific (activities optional, not included):

• Sport fishing in Quepos. Home to some of the world’s best sport fishing -- boats with experienced crews and great service can be reserved on site.

• Experience sea or estuary kayaking in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean, and get a great workout at the same time!

• Embark on a full day cruise to Tortuga Island. This white sand beach offers the opportunity to relax in the catamaran on the way to the island, and enjoy fun and relaxation under the sun. A savory beach BBQ is served at lunchtime.

• Explore the mangroves guided by experts. This tour presents a unique opportunity to spot the local wildlife traveling by boat to this unspoiled, pristine ecosystem. Expect close encounters with white-faced monkeys, sloths and many bird species.

In the afternoon enjoy an exciting open sea expedition in search for dolphins. Embark on an afternoon snorkeling and dolphin watching tour in the deep blue Pacific Ocean waters off the coast of Manuel Antonio ending after a romantic sunset. Overnight in a Suite in Gaia.

Day 6: After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the Quepos airport. Board the flight departing for Punta Islita. Upon arrival, board the hotel’s van for the 15-minute transfer to the resort. Check into a Honeymoon Suite with Jacuzzi at Hotel Punta Islita, one of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, a Virtuoso Property.

Days 7 and 8: Enjoy Hotel Punta Islita and the many activities available, including hikes, snorkeling, sports fishing, horseback riding and canopy tour. Explore the region, go fishing and take full advantage of their wonderful spa. Overnight in a Honeymoon Suite with Jacuzzi at Hotel Punta Islita. A 50-minute couples’ spa treatment, followed by a romantic private dinner on the beach, are included in your package.

Day 9: Board the hotel van (time TBD) for the short transfer to the local airstrip. Board the flight back to San Jose International Airport. Check in to your return flight.
