Costa Rica features two distinct hotels that have exceeded the rigorous criteria set to become members of the Leading Hotels of the World. Only a few hundred hotels in the globe out of tens of thousands have managed this achievement and we pair these two up to create a Leading Costa Rica Honeymoon. Both hotels are rated five stars. The package starts in renowned Tabacon Grand Spa which also boasts the title of being a Leading Spa of the World for three nights of adventure and relaxation in the rainforest. It ends with four all inclusive nights at Costa Rica’s leading all inclusive resort – Paradisus Playa Conchal. We feature a base package with the resorts’ entry level rooms, and an upgraded version with recommendations on activities, room types and amenities as per consensus among our Honeymoon in Costa Rica experts. As with all our packages, this itinerary can be modified to fit each couples’ needs and interests.

Day 1: you will arrive into the Liberia International Airport (or the San Jose International Airport). Transfer to the offices of the Car Rental Company. Sign the contract and receive a Small SUV (Suzuki Jimny or similar). Start the 3-hour drive to the northern region of Arenal. This beautiful drive will take you on the Interamerican Road south, past the towns of Bagaces and Cañas. The drive continues through the city of Cañas up the hills to Tilarán. Here you will depart from the cattle ranches and tilapia farm region into the rainforest area surrounding Lake Arenal. As you drive around the lake, take in the beautiful scenery of the lake, the volcano in the back and the forest surrounding it. Arrive in the region and check into a Superior Garden room at Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort. Take the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the Hot Springs and explore the region.

Days 2 and 3: Take full advantage of the many activities available in the region, visit the spa and relax at the award winning hot springs resort (activities not included):

Visit the Fortuna River Waterfalls which are located about three miles from town. Here, magnificent waterfalls cascade into the rainforest. If you wish, you will have the opportunity to hike and swim in the river.

Go rafting on the Sarapiqui River. The river has Class III and IV rafting for adventure aficionados and Floating Safari Class II rafting for slower paced, nature lovers. Both are excellent tour choices featuring amazing scenery, interesting wildlife and thrilling adventure.

Try canyoning, one of the country's top adventure activities. Rappel down a waterfall inside the rainforest, truly, an unforgettable experience!

For nature and kayaking lovers, the Arenal Lake – Costa Rica’s largest – offers the opportunity to experience a memorable kayaking outing with possibility to spot interesting local wildlife in their natural habitat.

View the forest from Hanging Bridges Tour. It is an impressive hike in the rainforest over a series of suspension bridges. View various types of flora and fauna at differing heights—from the ground to well above the canopy—what a way to see the jungle!

Experience the thrill of zip lining through the canopy of the rainforest on the Sky Trek and Aerial Tram, one of Costa Rica’s top canopy tours. A great way to experience the rain forest and a real adrenaline rush!

Overnight in a Superior Garden room at Tabacón Grand Spa.

Day 4: At your leisure check out and start the 4-hour drive to Conchal Beach. This beautiful drive takes you around Lake Arenal into the town of Tilarán. The drive will transfer you from lush rainforest to the tropical dry forests of the Guanacaste Savannah. Veer south past the towns of Filadelfia and Belen on your way to the Pacific Shores. Upon arrival, cross the gates to Costa Rica’s premier all-inclusive resort, check into a Deluxe Garden Junior Suite and enjoy the Resort.

Days 5 – 7: Days at your leisure at the fantastic Paradisus Playa Conchal all-inclusive Resort and the beautiful Conchal Region. Take advantage of the many activities available in the region (activities not included):

Explore the beaches. From Playa Langosta all the way to Playa Negra, Tamarido, Langosta, Playa Grande and Brasilito in the south, to Flamingo, Potrero and Sugar Beach to the north.

Enjoy a leisure boat ride down the dry tropical forest on a tour to the Palo Verde National Park. This park is home to interesting wildlife including two species of monkeys, sloths, tropical birds, coatimundis and unique reptiles.

Visit the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, and some of the mud baths and hot springs in the region. This park offers the opportunity to select from a wide range of activities including challenging hikes, relaxing hot mud baths, exciting tours on horseback and one of Costa Rica’s top canopy adventures.

Play golf at Hacienda Pinilla in Playa Langosta, or at the Robert Trent Jones golf course at the Paradisus in Playa Conchal.

Explore the native mangroves in Tamarindo on a sea kayaking tour.

Embark on a sunset cruise off the shore of Tamarindo Beach. View spectacular sunsets on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast as you sail through Tamarindo bay.

Overnight in a deluxe junior suite at Paradisus Playa Conchal.

Day 8: At a time to be determined check out of the Paradisus Playa Conchal. Start the 1-½ hour drive to the Liberia International Airport. Return the car and board the courtesy van to the airport. Arrive on time and check into your international flight back to the United States.
