Honeymoon in Costa Rica’s most popular package during 2008 is back!  Our Costa Rica honeymoon experts designed this seven night package to include Costa Rica’s top romantic destinations.  It features the Tabacon Grand Spa’s signature services and some of the country’s top adventure activities combined with Punta Islita, the country’s most romantic resort.  This package is ideal for the couple looking to participate in adventures in nature and enjoy very romantic and intimate settings both in the rainforest and at the beach. 

Day 1: Arrive in the San Jose International Airport.  Clear customs and immigration.  Your driver will meet you as you exit the airport to take you to the offices of the rent-a-car company.  Pick up a mid-size SUV (Suzuki Grand Vitara or similar, this package can also be designed with private transfers).

Start the two-and-a-half hour drive to the Arenal Region.  Enjoy the drive up the northern mountains of the Central Valley to the city of San Ramon, then down towards the flatlands of San Carlos, an area known for its agriculture, forest and cattle industries.  Drive through quaint towns, arrive in the region and check into a garden room with king bed at award-winning Tabacon Grand Spa a member of the Leading Hotels and the Leading Spas of the World.  Take the rest of the afternoon and evening to enjoy the hot springs resort and explore the region.

Day 2: Start your nature activities selecting one of the following signature tours in Costa Rica’s Adventure Capital:

• Visit the Fortuna River Waterfalls, located about three miles from town.  Here, magnificent waterfalls cascade into the rainforest.  If you wish, you will have the opportunity to hike and swim in the river.

• Go rafting on the Sarapiqui River. The river has Class III and IV rafting for adventure aficionados and Floating Safari Class II rafting for slower paced, nature lovers.  Both are excellent tour choices featuring amazing scenery, interesting wildlife and thrilling adventure.

• Try canyoning, one of the country's top adventure activities.  Rappel down 5 waterfalls inside the rainforest, truly, an unforgettable experience!

• Experience the thrill of zip lining through the canopy of the rainforest on the Sky Trek and Aerial Tram,  one of Costa Rica’s top canopy tours.   A great way to experience the rain forest and a real adrenaline rush! 

Return to Tabacon Grand Spa for a relaxing afternoon and evening at the hot springs.  Overnight in a garden room.

Day 3: Free day to embark on another half-day adventure or simply relax at the hot springs and join some of the daily scheduled activities available at the resort such as a guided visit to the botanical gardens or an inspiring yoga lesson in the rainforest. 

In the evening prepare for one of your trip’s highlights: a private three course dinner with your own chef and wait staff in a magnificent bungalow nestled in the gardens. Overnight in a garden room at Tabacon Grand Spa.

Day 4: Breakfast at the resort and your last chance to swim in the hot springs.  At approximately 9:00 a.m. start the drive to Liberia in Guanacaste.  Return the car and board the van for the short drive to the local departures airport.  Board the 40 minute flight to Punta Islita.  Upon landing the staff of the Hotel Punta Islita will transfer you to their award-winning property where you will check into a deluxe room.  Punta Islita, a Virtuoso property and a Small Luxury Hotel of the World, is a remote beachfront hotel that features breathtaking ocean views from all rooms, two swimming pools, one of the country’s top spas and a wide range of water and land based sports and activities. Overnight in a deluxe room at Hotel Punta Islita.

Day 5: Free day to enjoy the beach, the resort and the region.  Optional tours include snorkeling, surfing lessons, deep sea fishing, horseback riding and the local canopy tour.  Overnight in a deluxe room at Hotel Punta Islita.

Day 6: Free morning at Punta Islita.  Your last afternoon will be spent enjoying a couples’ spa treatment at the renowned Punta Islita spa.  Overnight in a deluxe room at Hotel Punta Islita.

Day 7: Last morning to enjoy the pool and the beach.  Check out at noon and board the hotel van for the short transfer to the local airport.  Board the flight back to San Jose.  Upon landing the driver will take you to San Jose’s top rated Bed & Breakfast, the Hotel Grano de Oro, where you will check into a standard room. We will provide you with restaurant recommendations for a romantic dinner in the city for your last night in the country. Overnight in a standard room at Hotel Grano de Oro.

Day 8: Check out of the hotel and board the van for the short drive to the San Jose International Airport.
