Our Costa Rica Honeymoon experts have designed this package to feature some of Costa Rica’s most luxurious and award-winning properties, taking you to both the country’s most eco-diverse region and Central America’s highest rated resort. The perfect package for couples wishing to experience a close encounter with nature in true rustic luxury, and then staying at the posh Four Seasons Resort!
As with all our packages, we can modify any portion to accommodate each couple’s specific interests and requirements. We can substitute hotels, forms of transportation, tours, and activities or even use this idea as a base for a completely customized itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival at San Jose International Airport. Clear immigration and customs; meet your driver as you exit the airport. Enjoy the 30-minute drive up to the Central Highlands to the Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation and Inn where you will spend one romantic evening unwinding in one of the country’s most romantic spots. Finca Rosa Blanca is located north of San Jose on the outskirts of the Central Valley, offering spectacular views of its coffee plantation and the surrounding countryside. This is one of the country’s prime coffee plantation regions, known also for strawberry and ornamental plant production. Overnight in a Jr. Suite.
Day 2: Free morning to enjoy Finca Rosa Blanca and the beautiful property. Check out (time TBD) and take a 30-minute van transfer to the local airport. Check in to the flight to Puerto Jimenez in the Osa Peninsula. Upon arrival, a driver from Lapa Rios will transfer you to the resort. Arrive at the award-winning Lapa Rios and check into a Bungalow. Lapa Rios has been recognized by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the world’s top eco-lodges and has received a 5-leaf (out of 5) rating in the Sustainable Tourism program of the Costa Rican Government. The front desk will coordinate tours and activities included in the package. Overnight in a Bungalow at Lapa Rios.
Days 3 and 4: Enjoy Costa Rica’s most eco-diverse region. Choose your tours and activities, explore the region and enjoy the resort. Tours available include hikes in the wildlife reserves and the national parks, bird watching tours, dolphin watching tours, snorkeling and fishing. The eco-resort is located on the Osa Peninsula, home to the renowned Corcovado National Park, an area which National Geographic names as one of the world’s most eco-diverse regions. Overnight in a Bungalow at Lapa Rios. Day 5: Enjoy your last morning at Lapa Rios. Lapa Rios staff will transfer you to Puerto Jimenez (time TBD). Check in to the flight returning to San Jose, where you will connect to a flight to Liberia. Upon landing in Liberia, board a transfer van to the Papagayo Region. Enjoy the scenic landscapes on your 35-minute drive on the Guanacaste Savannah, heading west to the Pacific shores of Northwest Costa Rica. Check into a Terraza Room at the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica in Papagayo, one of the top resorts in Latin America as listed by Condé Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure readers’ polls.
Days 6 - 9: Enjoy luxury and pampering at the Four Seasons. Some of the services offered at the resort include a full-service spa, with master yoga instructors and a fully equipped gym; one of Latin America’s top championship golf courses; and a myriad of tours and activities available in the area. We recommend considering some of the following activities and tours:
Explore the beaches south of the Gulf: Panama, Hermosa and Playas del Coco.
Enjoy a boat ride in the dry tropical forest on a tour to the Palo Verde National Park. This tour will provide ample opportunity to spot local wildlife and learn about this unique ecosystem.
Visit the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, and some of the mud baths and hot springs in the region. This adventure-filled tour includes hikes and tours on horseback in the rainforest, one of the country’s top canopy and rappelling tours, tubing and bubbling mud pools.
Play golf at the Arnold Palmer Signature championship course at the Four Seasons Resort in Papagayo.
Experience the thrills of the Witches Rock Canopy Tour, one of the country’s top-rated adventures.
Watch the giant leatherback turtles nesting during a special night tour (only available from mid-November to late February). This is a miracle of nature that can only be seen in select places around the globe, during a few months of the year.
Cross the border to Granada in Nicaragua and visit another Central American country. This long day-tour will take you through southern Nicaragua, visiting Lake Nicaragua and the picturesque town of Masaya, home to many artisans. The highlight of the trip is a visit to one of Latin America’s oldest cities, Granada. The Colonial city is full of interesting architecture, colorful buildings and friendly people.
Overnight in a Terraza Room at the Four Seasons Resort.
